Forum for Equality Endorses Judge Piper Griffin for Louisiana Supreme Court

Forum for Equality has announced its endorsement of Judge Piper Griffin, #49, in her bid to succeed Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson to become the next 7th District of the Louisiana Supreme Court Justice. Both she and the organization are dedicated to protecting Louisiana citizens from discrimination, harmful legislation, and lack of education about the state’s judicial system.

The Forum for Equality joins the Alliance for Good Government, IWO, AFL-CIO, Voters Organized to Educate, and others in endorsing Judge Griffin for Louisiana Supreme Court.

“This endorsement is yet another fruit of the laborious work that comes with making a difference within our state and its many diverse communities. The lifeblood of this campaign has been a commitment to justice with a passion to serve, and I am thankful to Forum for Equality for joining me in this journey towards a truly worthwhile destination: equity and fairness for all.” – Judge Piper Griffin.

Ensuring access to justice and equal protection under the law for all citizens is a top priority for Judge Griffin and has been since the inception of her 33-year legal career. Since completing her Juris Doctorate at the Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Judge Griffin has served as Chief Judge of the Civil District Court and is now its third most senior judge. She has also served as Finance Committee Chair, Disaster Recovery Committee Chair, Technology Chair, and was selected by the Louisiana Supreme Court to fill a vacancy at the Civil District Court.

Judge Piper Griffin embodies the character essence of a servant leader; her exemplary behavior has been recognized in the form of many accolades, including: the American Board of Trial Advocates Thomas Jefferson Justice By the People Award (2020), the Sarah J. Harper Humanitarian Award (2019),the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society Lifetime Achievement Award (2018), and many other achievements that can consistently be traced back over the past 20 years.
